The Fulton team is comprised of a highly dedicated and enthusiastic group of approximately 30 early childhood educators and exceeds provincial and municipal regulations in both numbers and qualifications. These staff are complemented and supported by a management team that reflects many years of experience in the child care field. The commitment of these professionals speaks volumes about our organization.
The majority of our friendly, experienced staff have post-secondary education in child development; 83% of our staff have obtained the highest level of Early Childhood Education. Many staff are long term employees with approximately 50% of the staff having worked at the centre for five years or longer. All of our staff have first aid training with infant CPR. Our staff members are encouraged to continue their professional development by attending workshops and conferences.
For the children’s safety, all prospective staff are required to undergo a criminal record check and a child welfare record check before being hired.
How are staff certified?
For licensed daycare programs, out-of-school care programs, and preschool programs, all staff working directly with children must be certified within six months of employment and must not have unsupervised access to children until certified.
Certification looks at an applicant’s post-secondary training in early childhood education or equivalent and determines if they are eligible for one of the three levels of certification. Learn more about early childhood educator certification in Alberta.
